On-Site PSI Testing Center — Pass Your FAA Written Exam Without Leaving Campus (Coming Soon)

Most flight students in Texas have to schedule a separate trip to an off-site testing facility to take their FAA Knowledge Test — often waiting days for an appointment and driving across the metro. At Parrish Aviation Flight Academy, our campus at Dallas Executive Airport (KRBD) will soon house fully authorized PSI Testing Centers, so you will be able to sit your written exam on the same campus where you train.

This matters more than it sounds. Scheduling your FAA Knowledge Test the moment you finish your ground school removes friction, keeps your momentum, and means your written score is in hand when you're ready to schedule your checkride. No separate registration headaches. No wasted travel time. Show up to the campus you already know, sit the exam in a familiar environment, and move on.

Our PSI Testing Center will be open to both Parrish Aviation students and outside candidates testing for any FAA pilot knowledge exam, including Private Pilot, Instrument, Commercial, CFI, and ATP written tests.

On-Site Aviation Medical Examiner (AME) — Get Your FAA Medical Certificate Here (Coming Soon)

An FAA Medical Certificate is required before you solo — and the process of finding, scheduling, and traveling to an Aviation Medical Examiner can delay your training by weeks. Parrish Aviation is eliminating that obstacle entirely. Our campus will soon be home to an on-site Aviation Medical Examiner (AME) who will conduct FAA First, Second, and Third Class medical exams right here.

Whether you need a Third Class medical for your Private Pilot License, a Second Class for your Commercial Certificate, or a First Class medical on the path toward an ATP or airline career, you will be able to schedule your exam without leaving Parrish Aviation's campus. Our admissions team can coordinate your medical appointment alongside your first lesson so you're cleared and ready from day one.

For student pilots exploring becoming a pilot in Texas, the ability to handle your medical certification on-site will remove one of the most common early delays in flight training.

Pilot Shop — Every Piece of Gear You Need, On-Site

When you start flight training, the list of equipment you need arrives fast: a quality headset, a kneeboard, a flight computer (E6B), sectional charts, a plotter, a logbook, and more. Sourcing all of it online and waiting for deliveries wastes valuable early training days. Parrish Aviation's on-site Pilot Shop stocks the essential aviation supplies, tools, and gear that student pilots need — available the day you need them.

Our instructors can recommend exactly the right headset and equipment for your stage of training. No guesswork, no returns. You walk in as a student, pick up your gear with guidance from someone who flies every day, and you're ready for your next lesson.

  • Aviation headsets (David Clark, Bose, Lightspeed, Rugged)
  • Kneeboard pads and holders
  • FAA sectional charts and approach plates
  • Flight computers, plotters, and navigation tools
  • Pilot logbooks and study materials
  • Sunglasses, luggage tags, aviation apparel

Advanced Progress Tracking — AeroPlanned Transparency

One of the biggest frustrations for flight students is not knowing exactly where they are in their training or when they will finish. At Parrish Aviation, we solve this with AeroPlanned, an advanced progress-tracking platform that provides extreme transparency for every student.

Through AeroPlanned, you can see your exact progress in the curriculum at any given time. More importantly, it calculates the specific pace you need to maintain to finish your certificate by your desired target date. We love this because it puts you in control — you decide the pace of your training, and we provide the tools to help you hit your milestones.

  • Real-Time Progress — See every completed lesson and what's coming next.
  • Finish-Date Projection — Know exactly how many flights per week are needed to meet your goal.
  • Extreme Transparency — Your training data is always available to you, not just your instructor.
  • Student-Led Pace — Whether you want to finish in 3 months or 12, the system adapts to you.

In-House Maintenance Facility — Maximum Fleet Availability, Minimum Downtime

One of the most frustrating aspects of flight training at many schools is unexpected aircraft downtime. A plane goes into maintenance and students lose days — or weeks — of scheduled lessons. At Parrish Aviation, our in-house A&P-certified maintenance facility keeps our fleet airworthy with a turnaround speed that outside maintenance shops simply cannot match.

Because our mechanics work on campus and are familiar with every aircraft in our fleet, routine inspections, squawk fixes, and 100-hour checks happen faster and more predictably. Our students spend more hours in the air and fewer hours waiting for a serviceable airplane — which directly translates to faster certificate completion and lower overall training costs.

In-house maintenance also means that every aircraft in our fleet is maintained to a consistent standard by technicians who understand the demands of a training environment. Compare this to schools that outsource maintenance to off-site shops — where your training schedule is at the mercy of a third party's workload.

The Sling NGT Fleet — Training on the Most Advanced Aircraft Available

The aircraft you train on shapes the pilot you become. Parrish Aviation's primary training fleet includes the Sling NGT — a modern, purpose-built training aircraft equipped with the Garmin G3X Touch glass cockpit. In an industry where many schools still operate 40-year-old Cessnas with analog gauges, training in a Sling NGT gives Parrish Aviation students a serious competitive advantage.

The Garmin G3X Touch suite includes a primary flight display (PFD), multi-function display (MFD), moving map, weather integration, and digital engine monitoring — the same category of avionics you'll find in modern professional aircraft and regional airline cockpits. Students who train on glass panels transition to airline and charter cockpits with significantly less adaptation required.

  • Sling NGT — Garmin G3X Touch glass cockpit, modern airframe, LSA-derived efficiency
  • Cessna 172 Skyhawk — The world's most proven training aircraft; stable, forgiving, widely recognized by employers
  • Piper Twin Comanche — Twin-engine platform for Multi-Engine Rating and Commercial training

Our fleet is maintained on-site by our A&P shop, ensuring that every aircraft you schedule is ready to fly when you arrive. Explore our full fleet details on the homepage.

— Flight Training You Can Afford

Flight training is an investment in a career with exceptional long-term earning potential — but the upfront cost is a barrier for many students. Parrish Aviation works with financing partners and government benefit programs so that cost doesn't stop qualified, motivated students from reaching their goals.

Additional financing is available through Wurthy Financial, which offers flexible funding structures for pilot training programs. Call our admissions team at (469) 886-8089 to discuss which option fits your financial situation.

Purdue Global University Pathway — Earn Your Degree While You Fly

A commercial airline career today requires more than just an ATP certificate — most major carriers strongly prefer, and many require, a four-year degree. Parrish Aviation Flight Academy has established a pathway partnership with Purdue Global University, one of the most respected names in aviation education, allowing our students to pursue a Bachelor's degree in Aviation concurrently with their FAA flight training.

This integrated approach means you can complete your Career Pilot Program — Private Pilot through CFI — while simultaneously building toward a Purdue Global aviation degree. By the time you hold your CFI certificate and are building flight hours for an ATP, your degree requirements can be well underway or complete.

For student pilots with a clear airline career objective, the Purdue Global pathway at Parrish Aviation is one of the most strategically complete flight training programs available in Texas. You get:

  • FAA Part 141 flight training with structured, approved curriculum
  • Concurrent enrollment pathway toward a Purdue Global aviation degree
  • On-site PSI testing, AME, maintenance, and pilot shop
  • A modern glass-cockpit fleet and 12+ experienced CFIs

No other flight school in the $Dallas area combines all of these advantages under one roof. Parrish Aviation isn't just a place to get a certificate — it's a complete aviation career launchpad.
