Texas's Premier Career Pilot Program — From Zero to MEI
Parrish Aviation Flight Academy's Career Pilot Program is the most structured and efficient path to a professional pilot career available in Texas. Based at our flagship campus in Dallas (KRBD), this FAA Part 141 program takes students from their very first flight through Private Pilot, Instrument Rating, Commercial Certificate, and Certified Flight Instructor — building the flight hours, technical knowledge, and aeronautical judgment that airlines and charter operators require.
In a state the size of Texas, the need for professional pilots has never been greater. Regional airlines are hiring aggressively, charter operations across DFW are expanding, and corporate aviation at Dallas Love Field and DFW International Airport creates continuous demand for ATP-qualified pilots. Parrish Aviation Flight Academy's Career Pilot Program is designed specifically to feed that pipeline.
Career Pilot Program Stages — What You'll Earn
Our Career Pilot Program follows a logical, sequential progression under a single FAA Part 141 certificate:
- Stage 1 — Private Pilot License (PPL): Foundation of flight. VFR cross-country, solo operations, night flying, and your first FAA checkride.
- Stage 2 — Instrument Rating (IFR): Fly in IMC. IFR cross-country, holds, approaches, missed procedures. Train in real DFW weather.
- Stage 3 — Commercial Pilot Certificate: 250 total hours. Complex aircraft, precision maneuvers, and aeronautical decision-making for professional operations.
- Stage 4 — Multi-Engine Rating: Piper Twin Comanche. Engine-out procedures, multi-engine aerodynamics, and the ATP-track certificate.
- Stage 5 — Certified Flight Instructor (CFI/CFII): Teach others, build hours toward the 1,500 ATP minimum, and develop the communication and leadership skills airlines value.
Students who complete the full Career Pilot Program exit with a Commercial Certificate, Multi-Engine Rating, Instrument Rating, and CFI/CFII — everything needed to begin building toward ATP minimums.

Why Choose a Part 141 Career Program Over Part 61 in Texas?
The FAA allows Part 141 schools to train Commercial Pilot candidates to 190 total hours (vs. 250 under Part 61) — a meaningful reduction in time and cost for students pursuing professional careers. Under Part 141, every stage of training is reviewed and approved by the FAA, ensuring the curriculum you receive meets the highest federal standard.
