Discovery Flight in Dallas

A discovery flight is a one-on-one introductory flight lesson with a Parrish Aviation Certified Flight Instructor (CFI). You'll sit in the left seat of our modern Sling NGT training aircraft, take the controls, and actually fly over Dallas — no experience required.

Discovery flights typically last 45–60 minutes and depart from Dallas Executive Airport (KRBD), located just 10 miles south of downtown Dallas at 5125 Voyager Drive, Dallas, TX 75237. Your CFI will be with you every step of the way: pre-flight walkaround, taxi, takeoff, and landing.

Many of our students book a discovery flight before committing to a full training program. It's the best way to know if flying is for you — and for most people, one flight is all it takes.

Your discovery flight at Parrish Aviation includes:

• Pre-flight briefing — your CFI walks you through the aircraft, instruments, and what to expect
• Aircraft walkaround — learn how pilots inspect the plane before every flight
• You fly the plane — take the controls over Dallas under CFI supervision
• Scenic views — fly over downtown Dallas, the Trinity River, and surrounding DFW area
• Post-flight debrief — discuss what you experienced and next steps if you want to continue training

All discovery flights are logged in your official FAA logbook and count toward your Private Pilot Certificate if you decide to continue training with us.

Parrish Aviation Flight Academy is an FAA Part 141 certified flight school at Dallas Executive Airport. We fly the Sling NGT — a modern, light sport aircraft with a glass cockpit, excellent visibility, and a side-by-side seating arrangement that makes communication with your instructor easy and natural.

Our instructors are full-time, career CFIs — not student instructors building hours before moving on. Over half of our CFIs hold the FAA Gold Seal, which is awarded to instructors with exceptional student pass rates. You'll be in experienced hands from the moment you arrive.

Dallas Executive Airport sits at the intersection of Class C and Class B airspace, giving discovery flight students an authentic look at real-world aviation operations in a busy metropolitan environment.

Discovery flights are available seven days a week, weather permitting. We recommend booking at least a few days in advance to secure your preferred time slot.
